Health Benefits of Fibrous Pure Mango Pulp

Mango is a summer fruit and people in the South East Asia wait for summers to relish mangoes. Most of the countries and especially India experience bulk supply of mangoes of different varieties. Moreover, mango is the king of fruits in most of the countries. But, many people avoid eating mangoes due to the high sugar content present in it. They are unaware of the health benefits that pure mango pulp carries and so, they never bother about avoiding this nutritious, minerals and vitamins rich fruit. In this story, we will talk about mango pulp benefits in detail.

Mango pulp soothes stomach - Mango contains various enzymes that have medicinal properties. It is among important ingredients used by food manufacturers in preparation of jams, squash, marinades, and shakes. Mango pulp is good for stomach health and treats constipation.

Pure mango pulp is rich in fiber and prevents constipation issue. Many studies and research have shown that different varieties of mangoes when consumed in a certain way, it can help in curing particular types of cancer and prevents heart attack. It also has potassium which is important for the human body.

How to include mango pulp in your diet?

You can either prepare new recipes of mango or eat mango as it is. We will tell you one recipe - mango barfi in this post now.

Things Required -

  • Mango pulp – 2 cups
  • Sugar – 150 gm
  • Desi ghee- 75 gm
  • Besan or gram flour- 100 gm
  • Cashew and pista- for garnishing
  • Small cardamom- 5-6

Take a pan and heat the desi ghee. Once it melts, add gram flour or besan and stir it well until the flour gets brown and roast. Take a dry bowl and put the roasted gram flour into the bowl.

Now put the mango pulp in the pan along with sugar. Cook it for a while and stir it with the spoon at small intervals. Once the mango pulp gets thick, add the roasted gram flour and cook it for a while by consistent stirring the mixture using spoon.

This mixture will look like halwa and start to leave the pan corners. Add the pieces of cashews and pista and sprinkle cardamom powder on it. Stir it again till it forms a thick consistency.

Now grease a plate well and put this mixture. Spread the mixture evenly and garnish with some more cashews and pista. Let it set and cool. It will take about 2 hours.

Cut the barfi into slices and enjoy.
